This painting was created by painting over an older work, layering paint and paper, and then removing parts of those layers to reveal the beauty hidden beneath. Much like life, some areas are smooth and others rough—some are visible, while others remain hidden and yet to be uncovered.
Judy Grasamke is a Minneapolis-based self-taught abstract painter. Former textile artist, she creates layered, energetic works using paint, mark-making, and paper. Her art is uplifting and evolving, and she exhibits widely across the Minneapolis area in juried and gallery shows.
