Jaemy C (Jaemy Choong) is a Malaysian multi-disciplinary visual artist whose creative practice spans advertising, graphic design, and visual storytelling. With a background that includes writing ad campaigns, serving as an art director for a national television station, and co-founding the design studio Kickatomic, Jaemy brings a richly layered perspective to his art.
His distinctive style draws from experimental sumi brush calligraphy, pop culture, and playful yet twisted sci-fi aesthetics. A self-proclaimed dry humour enthusiast, his work is infused with satire, sarcasm, and an irreverent take on modern life.
In 2021–22, Jaemy endured a year-long wave of cyberbullying following a controversial art collaboration with adidas. Rather than retreat, he transformed this experience into a powerful source of inspiration—fueling a new body of work that explores trauma, social media dynamics, and the fragile, sometimes absurd nature of human connection in the digital age.
Jaemy’s art has led to collaborations with major brands including adidas, Samsung, Shake Shack, Lenskart Singapore, and RHB Bank. His installations have been featured at well-known venues like Kwai Chai Hong and Kampung Attap in Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier in his career, his viral "mash-up" photography on Instagram garnered international attention, with features in BuzzFeed, MTV.com, Huffington Post, The Sun, and the French art publication Pirates: l’art du détournement culturel.
