Through this body of work, Kathleen explores the thresholds between the natural world and our internal landscapes. Small shifts and subtle transitions accumulate, becoming catalysts for transformation. These botanical forms reflect the fleeting nature of ecotones—the spaces where one landscape gives way to another—and the transitional energy inherent in the natural world.Kathleen Kvern is a Minneapolis-based abstract painter working in encaustic and mixed media. Her luminous, layered work created in Northeast Minneapolis explores nature, spirituality and transformation.
