Botanical Burst #1 evokes an autumn parade, featuring pressed flowers and leaves on linen. For the ground, the artist painted and stitched repurposed tea bags collected from her nightly tea ritual. The leaves are arranged tosuggest a gentle breeze, while the rudbeckia flower symbolizes the sun. The dill bursts with life, and its overlapping stems enhance the three-dimensional quality of the piece.
Cynthia Huff is a mixed media artist based in Edina, Minnesota. Using pressed flowers, leaves, painting, flower hammering, and stitching, she creates botanical works celebrating nature’s beauty and fragility. She holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa.
